Help a child “Start Off on the Right Foot”! You’re invited to participate in our 6th annual “Starting Off on the Right Foot” shoe drive and help us in our goal of providing every child at Woodridge Elementary School in Foothill Farms with a new pair of shoes, for the new school year!
Sacramento — we have our work cut out for us this year. To provide EVERY CHILD at Woodridge with a new pair of shoes for the 20/21 school year, we’ll need to collect over 800 NEW PAIRS OF SHOES! This is our largest undertaking yet, and we won’t be able to accomplish our goal without community donors, sponsors, and partners!
It is our goal to see to it that EVERY child, at Woodridge Elementary School, is able to start the new year on the right foot!
WHY SHOES?
When we asked school staff what students are most in need of when starting the new school year, we were simply told “shoes” . Shoes that fit and shoes in working condition… free of holes and torn soles. Back-to-school shoes, a basic need to most, are a luxury item to the children who attend our sponsored schools.
OUR 2020 GOAL IS 800 PAIRS OF NEW SHOES!HOW YOU CAN HELP…
Sponsor: Sponsor our 6th Annual “Starting Off on the Right Foot” Shoe Drive! FACT: 100% of your sponsorship will be used to provide NEW SHOES to the children at our sponsored school. We take out zero admin or over-head costs. Learn more about available Sponsorships here!
Partner: We’re also looking for fundraising partners! Become a partner and host a fund or shoe-raiser… we’re here to help make your efforts a success.
Attend: Join our events this spring and summer! Many of our upcoming events will be fundraisers for our 6th Annual “Starting Off on the Right Foot” Shoe Drive! Can’t join? Share with your friends and family!
Donate: Stay tuned to learn about how individuals can give both monetary and NEW SHOE donations! Most of our fund/shoe-raiser events will also serve as donation drop-off events.

Last year, Chicas Latinas de Sacramento donated over 500 pairs of new shoes to students at Glenwood Elementary School — providing EVERY student with a new pair of shoes!!!

- 2015 – Woodbine Elementary: Distributed 400+ pairs
- 2016 – Del Paso Heights Elementary: Distributed 500+ pairs
- 2018 – D.W. Babcock Elementary: Distributed 500+ pairs
- 2019 – Glenwood Elementary School: Distributed 500+ pairs
