We are excited to announce the winner of Chicas Latinas de Sacramento’s 2021 $2,000 Scholarship award!

Please join us in congratulating our 2021 Chicas Latinas Scholarship recipient, Sofia Aguirre!

Sofia Aguirre is a full time student at Sacramento City College. She plans to pursue medicine to become a pediatrician and advocate for improving access to healthcare for the immigrant population. Sofia plans to attend UC Davis after completing her academic requirements at Sac City College. We are honored to invest in Sofia’s education, who herself is an investment in the betterment of our communities and future.

About Our Scholarship:

Applications were reviewed by our Scholarship Committee members, and the awardee was selected based upon their academic achievement and other eligibility requirements. Our annual scholarship award helps support Latinx students in Sacramento County who wish to pursue higher education. Thanks to the support from our community and their generosity, we are able to provide this type of important financial support.
